Today we celebrate NATIONAL CAKE DECORATING DAY. It is celebrated every October 10th, and it’s a great day to learn a new skill or improve on one you already know.
Many of the professional cake decorators started out as hobbyists. They began simply by trying a new hobby and fell in love with the way to express themselves through their edible masterpieces.
I loved learning new skills in cake decorating and the joy of the customers face when they saw their cake for the first time. 😍 Although I no longer do any cake decorating, I am still in love with the craft. Maybe one of my kids will pick it up someday?
As a mom, part of our job is to support our kids and encourage them to follow their dreams. The great thing about this day and age is we can find them the help they need especially when we don’t have a clue.
We have all seen the beautiful cakes on pinterest or instagram and wonder how do they do that? What tools are those bakers using?
I gathered a few more difficult but not out of the realm of possibility for a beginner cake decorator. These cakes are stunning and will impress anyone who sees them. Additionally, you can use pretty much any cake recipe.
Some simple yet elegant ways to finish off your cake. You don’t have to be super creative to decorate a cake.
Why not learn a little more, by checking out this free class on Fondant techniques. You and your kids will love playing with the edible clay. 😍
So, grab your kids and celebrate NATIONAL CAKE DECORATING DAY. You will be sure to make memories that will last a lifetime and maybe you or your kids will find a new hobby or business.
Here are a few of the cakes I have made in the past. Just to reminisce. 😊
